Cuban Pork is one of my favorite slow cooker dishes. I shared it years ago as part of a Dinner Party Post, but I thought it deserved a post of it’s own. So you (and mostly, I) could find the recipe more easily.

Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Corned Beef and Cabbage in a slow cooker - from

Since St Patrick’s Day is on a Tuesday, this year,  I thought I’d offer an easy method for preparing the traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage – using a slow cooker.  Put it on before you leave for work (or the pub) and it’ll be almost ready when you get home.  Easy huh!  I think I’ll […]

When I moved to Atlanta from New York, I couldn’t believe we didn’t get Memorial Day as a holiday.  In New York, Memorial Day was a big deal – the beginning of summer !! I guess since it’s been in the 80’s since March, the start of summer isn’t quite the same, here in the south. Growing up, our […]

Slow Cooker Tomatillo Chicken

Tomatillo Chicken

It’s been a crazy few weeks for some friends of mine, not the least of which was moving to a new home – so I decided to bring them dinner on moving day. A cozy meal seemed the right idea, featuring this slow cooker Tomatillo Chicken. It’s simple to prepare – done in a slow cooker while I was at work. The bite of the tomatillo salsa and the creamyness of sour cream is a great blend. I served it with brown rice and roasted vegetables. For dessert, my Apple Crisp – how cozy is that! Happy Housewarming!

Dinner Party – January 2011

napkins and cutlery

It’s so much more fun to watch major sporting events with friends. This year the Atlanta Falcons made the playoffs !(This doesn’ happen very often!) So, on Thursday, I decided to invite some friends over for dinner and the game. Unfortunately, the Falcons didn’t fare too well… but I scored alot of points with the dinner!
